About Feedstock India
A weekly research brief on the bulk drugs, and later the solar and fertiliser inputs, that India's manufacturers import rather than make. Written for analysts and procurement teams who need to know when that dependence moves.
Feedstock India is an independent research service tracking India’s dependence on imported industrial inputs. Coverage begins with pharmaceutical bulk drugs, the active pharmaceutical ingredients, key starting materials and intermediates that Indian manufacturers import rather than produce, and extends to solar and fertiliser inputs.
It publishes a weekly brief and maintains a public dependency tracker covering the 41 bulk drugs the Government of India has identified as critical.
Method
Every figure is traced to a primary source: government trade data, DGFT and PIB notifications, Department of Pharmaceuticals records, and company filings. Where a figure cannot be established from a primary source it is recorded as not known rather than estimated. Revisions are dated. Corrections are published.
