Every correction to a published brief or tracker figure is logged here, in reverse chronological order, with what was wrong, what it now says, and how it was found. See the methodology page for the full revision policy.
- India re-offered the eight bulk drugs nobody bid for. The project count has not moved in eighteen months. (9 Oct 2026)
- Published on 9 October 2026 under the headline "India offered the eight bulk drugs nobody wanted a second time. The window is still open." The window was not open. It closed on 4 July 2025. The same version gave the notice date as 15 May 2025 rather than 14 May, described the products as having been re-offered on easier terms, summarised Gentamycin's 40 MT threshold as a scheme-wide minimum that had been cut, and listed 12 March 2026 as an application deadline when that date belongs to an Empowered Committee decision.
- The notice is dated 14 May 2025; applications were due 14 June 2025 and were extended to 4 July 2025 by notice No. 31026/16/2020-Policy I/11115/2025 of 16 June 2025. The separate round for Meropenem and Ritonavir opened on 26 November 2025, ran thirty days from 27 November, and was extended on 26 December 2025 to 16 January 2026. The minimum capacities are the scheme's own unchanged thresholds — the 1,500 MT for CDA is identical in the Department's notices of 14 June 2021 and 30 December 2022 — so nothing was offered on easier terms, and 40 MT is one product's threshold, not a scheme-wide figure. The section arguing that the capacity bar had been lowered rested entirely on that false premise and has been removed.
- The sourced body text was correct: the eleven products, their minimum capacities, the applicant caps, the eligibility bar on previously-approved firms, and the finding that the Department has published no outcome for either round. The errors were introduced in editing, not in the research, and the headline contradicted the body it sat above.
- Reported by the author on reading the published page, and checked against the Department of Pharmaceuticals notices, the extension notice of 16 June 2025 and Pharmexcil circular PXL/HO/Cir-018/2025-26 of 19 May 2025.
- The brief described the named composition of the eight uncovered products as a reconstruction that was not officially confirmed, and said no official document naming them together had been found. One had been published sixteen months earlier.
- The Department of Pharmaceuticals notice of 14 May 2025, file No. 31026/16/2020-Policy, invites applications for eleven products it describes as unsubscribed or partially subscribed, and all eight appear on it. The eight names are therefore corroborated by an official document, not only by subtraction. The count is a separate claim and remains a reconstruction: the notice lists its eleven products under a single combined heading without saying which are unsubscribed and which are partially subscribed, and a later notice of 26 November 2025 invites applications for two more, Meropenem and Ritonavir. Getting from those lists to exactly these eight and no others still requires arithmetic the Department has not published.
- The count of eight and the names themselves were correct. So was the finding the brief was built on: seven of the eight are fermentation-based or sit in fermentation-heavy antibiotic chains.
